Unemployment in pictures

Click on the link below to view a graphic evolution of the unemployment rates by county in the U.S. from January, 2007 through May, 2010.  It isn’t a pretty picture.

The footnote beneath the graphic refers to “31 million people currently unemployed.”  The 31 million is more accurately the number “underemployed” – including those that are not working as much as they would like, are out of work, or have given up looking for a job.
